Dr. Alejandro C. Arroliga, a physician and administrator at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, has been named to the Temple College Board of Trustees.

The Board appointed Dr. Arroliga to replace Michelle DiGaetano, who resigned from the Board in February because she no longer lives in the College’s taxing district. Dr. Arroliga will serve on the Board until May 2018, when he will need to run for re-election.

Dr. Arroliga is a renowned pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist who currently serves as chair of the Scott & White Clinic Board of Directors and as chief of staff of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center  –  Temple.

Dr. Arroliga earned his M.D. with honors from Veracruzana University in Veracruz, Mexico. He completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine and joined the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine faculty and Scott & White medical staff in 2006.

“Dr. Arroliga is a dedicated teacher and medical educator,” said Dr. Andrejs Avots-Avotins, chair of the Temple College Board of Trustees. “His knowledge and expertise in the field of education will be of great value to Temple College and the Board of Trustees as we continue to enhance our efforts to ensure student success.”
