The Opening Reception for the 43rd Annual Central Texas Art Competition & Exhibition will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Temple College Visual Arts Complex Gallery.
Students from more than 40 high schools and colleges throughout central Texas were invited to submit original works, including paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, drawings, prints and jewelry.
The 43rd Annual Central Texas Art Competition & Exhibition is sponsored by Altrusa International of Temple and the Temple South Rotary Club and is coordinated by the Temple College Visual Arts Department.
The exhibition, which is open to the public, will be on display in the art gallery until Dec. 1.
Prizes, including six $125 Awards of Excellence, two $50 Honorable Mentions and a $200 Juror’s Award, will be awarded on opening night.
The two-fold goal of the competition is to encourage and challenge the student artists in the Central Texas area. It also provides an opportunity for the appreciation of the creative efforts of these artists.
