As part of its new and expanded 2024 catalog of camps offerings, Temple College is launching new STEAM Saturdays camps beginning in February.

The STEAM Saturdays camps, designed for children ages 6-15, are offered at Temple College’s three campuses – Temple, Taylor and Hutto.

STEAM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. STEAM Saturdays will be offered once a month at each Temple College campus from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is $10 for each class.

“The classes offer an opportunity for children to experience, discover and build creative projects that will ignite their curiosity and inspire them to explore, create and innovate,” said Wendy Waiwaiole, Temple College’s coordinator for community programs. “During the first month, kids will be creating their own pinball machine!”

The STEAM Saturday schedules are as follows:

  • Temple Campus: the first Saturday of the month, will meet February 3, March 2, April 6 and May 4
  • Taylor Campus: the second Saturday of the month, will meet February 10, March 9, April 13 and May 11
  • Hutto Campus: the third Saturday of the month, will meet February 17, March 16, April 20 and May 18

Expanded Camps Catalog

Temple College has worked to increase and expand its camp offerings and now offers a full catalog of opportunities at locations in Temple, Taylor, Hutto and Rockdale.

Camps include everything from STEM to arts and crafts to entrepreneurship and music – and even barbering!

“We are thrilled to present Temple College’s 2024 camp and community enrichment course catalog, packed with diverse experiences for students of all ages,” Waiwaiole said. “These campus-based experiences expose students to the college setting and offer a dynamic, hands-on learning experience beyond traditional classrooms.”
