This coming week (Nov. 27-Dec. 3) will be a busy one for Temple College Athletics as the men’s and women’s basketball teams are scheduled to play a combined five games on their nonconference schedules.
The men (4-3) have dropped their last two games, losing 99-84 at Western Texas College and 100-95 in overtime at Howard College. The women (8-0) remain undefeated following a 93-59 win against UMHB on Nov. 21.
This week’s schedule:
- Monday – The men (MBB) will travel to Farmers Branch for a 6 p.m. game against Dallas College Brookhaven.
- Wednesday – MBB will host Dallas College Cedar Valley at 7 p.m. at the Danny Scott Athletics Complex. (PLEASE NOTE NEW TIME.)
- Thursday – The women (WBB) will travel for a 5:30 p.m. game against Paris Junior College.
- Friday – WBB will host Western Gulf at 5:30 p.m. at the Danny Scott Athletics Complex.
- Saturday – MBB will travel for a 1 p.m. game against San Antonio College.

Lady Leopards vs. UMHB Home Game Recap
In a game featuring two local teams, the Temple College Lady Leopards hosted the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The Lady Leopards opened a double-digit lead in the second quarter and outscored the Crusaders by 18 points in the second half on their way to a 93-59 win.
Wilashia Burleson (Temple, TX) scored nine of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter, as the Lady Leopards grabbed a 22-17 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes.
Erika Suarez (Pflugerville, TX/Hendrickson) had eight points, and Camille Pritchard (Bristow, OK) added seven points in the second quarter, as the Leopards took a 16-point advantage into the halftime break, 46-30.
Burleson scored nine points in the third quarter, and Evelyn Lorenzo (Killeen, TX/Ellison) and Kira Bass (Killeen, TX/Ellison) each added six points, as the Lady Leopards outscored the Crusaders in the third quarter by 11 points. TC went into the fourth quarter with a 70-43 lead.
The Lady Leopards flexed their bench in the final quarter, as Aniyah Lewis (Katy, TX/Cypress Lakes) scored 10 points over the last 10 minutes of the contest.
TC shot 13-of-18 from the free-throw line.
Burleson, Bass (13), Lewis (10), Suarez (10), Mitchell (10), and Peyton Overton (Sugarland, TX/Dulles, 10 points) all scored in double-figures.
Ella Hartmann (Fredericksburg, TX) led the Crusaders with 16 points and Katelen Brooks (Corpus Christi, TX/Veterans Memorial) added 11. UMHB shot 11-of-18 from the free-throw line.
